TDX00's Journal, 20 Mar 24

WARNING! Please be careful you don't get crushed under the weight of my profound stupidity! I'm so dense that light bends around me (and also now gravity). So absurdly incompetent that I probably shouldn't be allowed to handle scissors. If you sent me away for an IQ test, it'd come back negative! I'm as sharp as a bowling ball, as dumb as a bag of hammers, and as bright as a broken light bulb! In the words of James May, I am an apocalyptic dingleberry!

I was 138kg in August '22, down to 92kg in August last year, and now I'm damn near 130 motherf#*%ing kilos again! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!? WHAT THE FAAAAA!!!? I keep checking the back of my head to see if I can find the hole where my brains leaked out!

But here I am, starting again, again, again. Maybe it'll stick this time, but likely not, because I'm clearly too witless to be trusted with a plastic fork let alone my own diet. I'm too old for the army, so perhaps I should go commit some kind of crime that lands me in jail for six months. I'm sure I could lose weight on prison-quality food and some daily 'yard time'. I'm thinking... grand theft auto.

Okay I saw your comment about my little 63 calorie egg things and thought I’d see who put it there… if you want to get serious about loosing weight… and I can definitely see good reasons to (yourself, wife and kids!) 1. Make sure your will power is behind you! You need its strength, especially once you get rolling. 2. My doctor put me “Dr Michael Mosley’s Fast 800” diet. This is definitely NOT an easy diet, but it works and that’s why I’ve returned to it yet again. I have a very physical job (farmer) and discovered the very first time I used the diet that I can not work on 800 calories hence why I’m trying 1000 calories (again as suggested by my doctor). I have bought two of the recipe books and they are definitely a huge help working out what and how to eat. I wish you all the very best for success! We get one chance at life, enjoy it however the hell you choose! 🍻

nothing is wrong with you, it’s just Jo Jo. Don’t give up. Head up. What was yesterday was yesterday and today is a new day. Don't look back. It is not easy to keep the lower weight. So look ahead and start again.

Welcome back again, again, again 💪🏻 I'm still here after my long slow approach to getting my life back. So grateful for your wise words in the past as to how hard it is to maintain the reduced weight... it certainly ain't for sissies and I truly value you giving me the heads up to have a solid plan to keep the weight off!!! You are young enough to give it another crack and your motivation remains unchanged 😉

Try not to be so hard on yourself. It won’t achieve anything (except comfort eating in a corner… maybe not the best idea). You are here, you are accountable, you’ve done it before you can do it again. Wishing you health and success. Stay the course… you’ve just taken the bumpy path. Onwards.

Keep it simple, figure out your maintenance calories and divide by 3. Then eat 3 times a day. Prioritise Protein.

You are not dense!! Losing weight is tough both physically and mentally. It's common to have relapses, that doesn't mean you failed or anything like that. You can do this!!

try Keto, so much more satisfying but remember to keep it to the calorie count per day rougly if you want to continue to lose wieght. Mostly relapses tend to be because of issues in our emotional realm, so there is that to address possibly. Good luck, just start fresh :)

You know how to do it, now bloody get to it! Again! Seeing someone about the mind-battles is worthwhile, brains can be really shit to work with sometimes, you need to understand why you give up. You definitely DO have will power on your side, how many people could keep up OMAD and a tank of coffee for so long?! Our thinking can override everything though....I'm seeing a psychologist and am considering hypnosis for my self-sabotaging mind.

You have done it before. You can do it again. Over the years I have lost 40 kg plus three times, and put it on again three times. I look at it this way - some people say they just can't lose weight no matter what they do. I know for certain that I can drop 40 kgs if Itry. Use the fact that you have done it before to give you the confidence that you have the proven ability to do it again. Some people have no idea what strength they have. You and I know that we have done it before and can do it again. Know it. Use it.

Wow you lost a lot of weight and sad to hear you put it back on you must have been strong and disciplined wow you have been there before Get back into it! You did it before and now it’s time to go back to work start planning your days for training and go back to your killer diet that melted it all off. One day at a time your competing against yourself and if you feel tired and sore rest rest and rest then when you feel strong train the House down it’s like riding a wave. Low carbs has worked for me. Get back into walking to start your day and you will feel back to normal and raise that intensity in no time.

You are being way too hard on yourself. As others have said, you know how to do this and you can do it again. It is not just a physical challenge however, but a psychological one too. You are clearly not in the right head space to do this at the moment. So, you need to have a good hard think about the reasons for this down turn; maybe see a psychologist to work out a strategy to tackle your issues. When you have those in hand get back in the saddle and give it another go. We will all cheer you on your way...

Come on, don’t be too hard on what has passed. Learn and move on. I let myself go, and now it is going to take me three times as long and five times as hard to get back to where I was. I decided eff it! So what? I will just do it anyway! Keep going! You can do it!

It's so easy to put weight back on again. What I have recently discovered is something called the Randle cycle, which is basically that a diet that has a reasonable or high amount of both fat as well as carbs together is usually a problem for weight gain - so that is why the keto or the carnivore diets both work well for weight loss, as they are low carbs - a low fat diet should also work well, apparently (e.g., <5 grams a day). I wish you success on losing the weight again.

OMG I love your honesty and humor!!! Your human too. Get back on the wagon (you know what to do). Develop some strategies to deal with 'life' when it gets in the way of your goals. Shirleycraig makes some good points- Keto and Carnivore defiantly work.
