My diet is a kind of hybrid - 1500 calories, 1 fast day per week, lower carb, lower fat, high protein - I’m a vegetarian so obtaining sufficient protein is a lot easier if I use protein supplements- pea protein powder, soy products such as tofu and tempeh, and pure whey protein (WPI). It is part of a total body repair and rejuvenation program I’ve devised for myself. exercise is an important component. I walk every morning before I have eaten anything, but after hydrating with a big tumbler of warm water with lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and ginger - all shown to stimulate fat burning. I do light weights 3 days per week and treadmill fast walking 3 days, with one total rest day - this coincides with my fast day. This is based on a program called ‘back to fit’ by Bill Phillips. I need this because I’m still recuperating from a couple of serious illnesses with multiple complications. I also make a point of preparing food from fresh ingredients with minimal processing. Though I have been enjoying vegetarian sausages and burger patties lately (something new to me), most of what I eat by volume is fresh fruits and vegetables, steamed, stir fried, and salads. Non-starchy veg can be eaten in almost unlimited quantities as they are so low in calories - which is good because especially in the middle of the day I don’t reach satiety point unless my stomach is full. I usually don’t at much in the evening, mainly because I am still stuffed full from lunch 😂. Sometimes I just have a protein shake with WPI and pea protein. That helps muscle growth overnight, when the magic 🪄 happens.

Wow thanks for sharing your experience- I also eat a lot of whole foods and try to steer clear of processed foods unfortunately I haven’t been able to exercise much as I have also a couple small injuries.
