Fasting Day #35 - Woke up to a lovely 1.5# loss this morning! I must admit that it is easier to thank God for the big losses than it to thank Him when I stay the same or even gain. I'm a work in progress, though, learning how to, "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God."

Still going strong, accomplishing more than I was before I started fasting. My days don't seem quite so long, even though I am actually AWAKE for more of them. Before, I would get 11-12 hours of sleep a night. Now, it's more like 8-10 hours. I know, some of you would DIE for that kind of sleep. I'm thankful that I am in a position in life when I have the luxury of being able to sleep as long as I want to.

My green pole beans are still spindly, but they have LOTS of blossoms, and the honeybees are coming along more, pollinating them. (Glad I read that article that said bees and ladybugs were GOOD for your plants.)

The pool continues to be a pain in the caboose. I rigged up a new vacuum bag (double my first idea of using the tighter mesh), and I am going to try that today. I've been in a vicious circle of having debris on the bottom, vacuuming it up, which makes the water all cloudy from the part that got stirred up and the vacuum bag didn't catch, then adding water clarifier to clear up the cloudiness, which makes more debris fall to the bottom. Praying this new "fix" will get me out of this tiresome rut and give me crystal clear pool water!

Goal weigh-in is three weeks from today. I've still got 12 pounds to lose, and I've got 21 days to do it. Even though my goal was "to get under 200 pounds," I put it down as 199 pounds. I just realized yesterday that 199.7 or 199.3 won't cut it - it will have to be 199 POINT ZERO to officially make the goal, because I have to do the weigh-in on a digital scale (which I borrow from my son downstairs). That gives me a full pound MORE than I was expecting to have to lose - but God isn't surprised by anything. He knew this all along, and has me exactly where He wants me at this stage of the challenge.

Hope everyone has a good Lord's day today. If you don't go to church, take a moment and thank God for the blessings in your life. If you do go to church, enjoy the fellowship and message from God's Word.

The 1 1/2 lb drop is wonderful. Am I understanding that you feel you need to weigh on the same scale you weighed on initially? My old scale died so I had to buy a new one, so obviously, my weigh-in will be different. I can't see that they will be disturbed since any scale we use we have to show it at 0 before we get on it, without stopping the video. It occurred to me, I wonder if I can find the same clothes I wore for my first weigh-in. You have lost so much you may not even have the same clothes around. If we are careful, maybe our clothes won't weigh over 1 pound. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness to Debbie, and to me too.

Thanks for the encouragement @jimmiepop and @Texson3! @Snowwhite, yes, it just has to be on a digital scale. I have one of those stand-up "doctor" scales with the weights you move. That's what I weigh on every day, but I have to borrow my son's scale for the "official" weigh-in. I think I weighed in my pajamas last time. I will probably do that again, with the lightest weight ones I own, LOL.
