Shrewdness's Journal, 31 Aug 21

It has been a year now, August being my FS anniversary, and I am very very happy, but I haven’t hit goal yet.😔
Every time I lose weight
I find it again in the refrigerator!😋
Plus, for the first time ever, for a couple of days I didn’t post.
Why? Because I left the phone at work for the weekend.😠I've been forgetting things
for as long as I can remember!🥴
I am an idiot! Couldn’t go back and get it for our alarm system is having problems, we are having the security guy out tomorrow, had to leave it there and I had to resort to reading a book. 🙃 Read ‘Dear Gang’, by Gary Vogt. I am a true nerd and love reading about war from the perspective of the first person, that actual person in combat, can’t get more real than that. Loved it!
Most combat books have rough language from the young kids, but this one didn’t. 😌
I haven’t been bad, but I am not weighing in for a couple days, taking a FS weigh-in vacation, but will be counting calories though to stay in check. For instance, Al has gotten his first shot last night and we celebrated with a big ice cream and potato chips.😋 🍦
Was OK, after over a year of being away from chips I just wasn’t a huge fan.😁
Have a Terrific Tuesday!🌺
If you don’t weigh at least track, so important!!💪

I didn’t see you but then I don’t always see everyone’s posts … even when looking! 😜 Glad you are ok and just left the phone at the office. Nice break to disconnect! I’m glad Al got his first shot and an awesome reason to celebrate! Have a great one! ☕️☕️

Naval stories are fascinating to read too.

Happy FS anniversary! ❤ One of my favorite books is Among The Valiant. It was my father's book, about Mexican-Americans that fought in WWII. One of Joe's friend's father is in that book. My father was in WWII, went in a month after Pearl Harbor and came home months after the war ended in the Pacific.

I agree Javadali, it takes me a couple weeks before I realize a familiar face is not showing up. Thank you for all your well wishes and even though it’s night ☕️☕️, sounds great!😋👍💕🌺🌸🌻

I read your comment Katsolo on the picture post, thank you. I rarely comment on those posts because it is just for fun and there can just be too many to respond to. It’s hard to just respond to a few. Love your posts and reading how your day goes. Still laughing about the skunk, so sorry that happened to you. We only have opossums which can be a pain, but they eat the insects that want to destroy the plants so I guess that’s a plus. Enjoy your night!👍🌸🌺💕🌼

Well Shrew, I miss your witty posts when you aren't around...but I understand that we all need a break now and then...💜💜

Naval stories are probably too sad as there is no where to run and hide. Yet, listening to living conditions on board would be fascinating! Take care Yfritz!!🌺🌸🌼 Don’t let anyone take a bite out of your heart!💕

Thank you Becky, I never made goal yet, but I am so close and I’m so happy. Being on FS really makes you accountable and what wonderful people!❤️ I will get that book! Among The Valiant, I believe I’ve heard of that book. Boy, your father was there a long time, glad he made it home again. Did he ever tell you stories? We use to camp by an old guy that would sit in a chair, drink beer, and never really talk. Turned out after he had passed, I found out he was a well known WW2, pilot, damn!!!! I never got to hear even one story!😔 Take care and I hope you’re feeling well!💪🌺🌸🌼🌻💕

Shrew, you're doing great! First time I was on FS I got within 10 pounds of my goal and stalled. I slowly gained back 20 of the 30+ pounds I lost. Now losing it again had been so hard. So, don't be a Becc@. 🤦‍♀️😄 Yes, my father told us many stories. Some of them should not have been told to little girls, but he did. He really told them to Joe and Joe remembers all the details. I have a scrapebook my father made , first half is about running track in high school, second half is of the war. Some gruesome photos in there. My sister and I video taped my father some years before he passed away, where he talked about his life. After he passed away, I made a short film using some of those tapes for a class project. Anyway, there are many veterans that will not talk about the war. I completely understand why. ❤

Happy anniversary Shrewd! You may not have reached your goal yet, but you're well on your way! Lots to be proud of this last year!! 🌞

Wow, Becky, what a great family!💕 Your family values and celebrations and the degree of importance of some things are best way to live!!!❤️ We were raised weird, but it was OK. No true traditional family ways. My daughter-in-law, is a lot like you, I truly cherish her!💛 I am listening and not getting off track for I am counting calories and exercising. Just don’t want to weigh in first thing in the morning. I do believe the WW2 pilot was as you said, he just didn’t want to talk about it.😟 Have a Wonderful Wednesday!💕

Shirfleur, thank you!!❤️ I truly enjoy your humor and wisdom, please never leave the FS family!! You have come such a long way. I know at times it’s frustrating!😕 Yet, it is so wonderful to get on the scale and see a gain, yet the scale registers in a whole new territory anyway that had been foreign to me for so many years, it still an inspiring place to be at.👍💪Blessings!🌺
