Yesterday, I didn’t work on reports, I didn’t do chores, I spent all day working on a plumbing leak.😞
We have two little tiny apartments that are on our property. I use one for storage and the other one my son lives in. They need a lot of work, so we haven’t been renting them out. Huge expense of rewiring and plumbing involved. 😕
My son said when he went to put his feet down from his bed his feet got wet. What a nightmare!! He said water was coming up from the slab.😮 There’s no pipes under the slab so that is a major problem. He spent a day clearing out his apartment so we could get someone to come in to checkout what’s going on.😫
I just by chance checked the other apartment and it was flooded.😮
A little lead hose going into the toilet tank had broke! 😢
I just couldn’t mop up that much water, I tried though. 😕
My husband wasn’t home, he was out going to hardware stores looking for hinges and framing for our bathroom door that needed replacing. Old house weird size of everything, nothing is normal.
I remembered I bought a Hoover rug cleaner on the home shopping network, broke it out and starting getting the water out so much more easily. YAY!💪
Was in that apartment all day, everything is ruined I am sure! Not fretting about it, can’t clear it all out in one day. 🙃
Will work on getting storage out of it daily! My fault for not going in that place for awhile, I have gone in, but just the kitchen part, not the back bathroom.😞
We are rejoicing though, for my son made it sound as if it was coming up from under his bed. Instead, it was going through the walls and underneath the carpeting. A problem that can be conquered by us.😄
An old pipe or tiny spring buried under the cement slab was a much much bigger nightmare to contend with. Phew! 😅
No one will ever see all my hard work, it just went down the drain!😣

Saw on a Plumbers truck: “We repair what your husband fixed.”😄

I was so worried for anybody who has any doubt about the ingenuity or the resourcefulness of a plumber never got a bill from one.😁

Oh wow! I’m so sorry to hear this…no fun!!! Been there … kinda done that except our commode overflowed while we were out (clean water). Stepped in 6 inches of water when we arrived home. Called a restoration company and they removed all carpet and padding (new carpet that was down less than a month!) They took everything that was touched by water, cleaned it and brought it back. New padding was layed under cleaned carpet. Put in three huge industrial fans that ran day and night for three days to dry things out… Like living in an airport and I love sleeping to the sound of a fan but it was maddening. My neighbor had a leak under their slab and they cut a hole in the slab and capped it. Put new plumbing in the attic. Both ours and their water damage was covered by insurance or at least most of it. Again, I’m so sorry!!!
