Debbie Cousins's Journal, 01 Mar 22

Scale down another pound this morning. Sticking with the bizarre eating plan I've concocted.

Yesterday, I scheduled an appointment with a counselor who deals with boundaries. We'll meet with her in a teleconference next Tuesday. She is a Christian, and will approach our counseling from a Christian perspective. I thought her prices were very reasonable: $65 for a 90-minute session! I hoping my husband will learn about and understand setting healthy boundaries, so we can be on the same page in making changes with our son.

Husband STILL sick - cancelled prayer meeting for tomorrow morning. He hasn't shaved in four days, and hasn't spent more than two hours out of bed at a time since Saturday. He DID eat a bowl of cereal this morning with a banana, and he drank some ginger ale. He's still having the severe charlie horses in his left shoulder and arm. I've offered several times to have the rescue squad come and do an EKG to see if he's having a heart attack. I think that if he is not better by tomorrow, I will give him the choice of going to a Patient First or having the rescue squad come.

Finished the "Setting Boundaries With Your Adult Children" audio book this morning. It was good, and I learned a lot. Now, to "perform the doing of it!"

Had my psychiatrist appointment this afternoon. (I go every three months for evaluation and medication refill prescriptions.) My medications are well-adjusted right now, PTL. When they got out of whack a couple of years ago, I ended up spending a week in the "Behavioral Awareness" (read PSYCH) unit of the hospital.

We have a lot in common. I spent time in the psych ward twice for going off my meds. Thankfully, I finally learned my lesson and go back in 6 mos. Hope the counseling goes well and I'm glad you found a Christian counselor you think your husband and you will both like. Best wishes and God bless you. :)
