Debbie Cousins's Journal, 16 Oct 23

Lost another 2/10 of a pound this morning - down to 181.8 - only 1.9 pounds left to lose to breach the 170’s barrier! Average daily calories for last week were 1,699! Yesterday was a pretty good day, except that I only drank 2 bottles of water and had 7 cans of Diet Coke. Otherwise, calories were 1,678, walked 6 miles, (I don’t do PT exercises on Sundays), Protein 90.09, Fiber 28.3. Haven’t had any desserts for several days. The protein bars don’t count in my mind, because I don’t really enjoy them - it’s not something I really WANT to to - just HAVE to in order to get in the protein. Entertaining the thought of having a high-calorie day today. Haven’t made up my mind yet. Could go either way.
82.5 kg Lost so far: 35.0 kg.    Still to go: 14.4 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Well, I yielded to 2 Pepperidge Farm cookies (a Chesapeake and a Tahoe) with 1/4 cup of whole milk. Do NOT follow my example! But, if I stick to the rest of my food plan for the day (which I finagled some), I will have under 1,700 calories, 30g Fiber and 100g of Protein. I can live with that, and it won’t make me have to play catch up all week. I feel a little bad about it; but mostly I just really enjoyed those 🍪 and 🥛!

I do that too often with Diet Coke too. Sometimes I only drink it and eat Club Crackers all day!

Debbie do NOT do a high calorie day. You are less than 2 pounds from the 70’s!! Great work!! Here is a thought for protein swap of protein bars—don lee chicken patties (thank you cheesegobbler). Similar calories and 20 grams of protein and taste good. Or make a protein smoothie with some frozen fruit and zero calorie sugar free syrup and protein shake—similar to a milkshake. Great work my love!!!

Debbie, I second YOH suggestion of doing a protein shake. I have one after every workout & look forward to them. Also, if you want to eat a protein bar, there are so many different brands. So.e of them do taste good. I like the Clif Bars Crunchy Peanut Butter.

You are doing so great. Then it scares me for you to have sweets. OK, I won't follow your example. I was tempted to have ice cream today but didn't. I did have a deli sandwich, and I have been trying to avoid bread. That was enough of a splurge for me when trying to lose, so I made it my only meal.
