jferg1949's Journal, 03 Aug 15

This is my first journal entry. I have been tracking through this site for months but never felt comfortable sharing. i have lost 50 lbs in the past year, but not because I was trying. my hisband of 44 years passed away amd I was going through my grief process. now that I have begun to tirn a corner, my appetite is also retirnimg, so I jave been paying close attemtuon as I would like to keep goong in the downward direction. I always do better when I am tracking my intake. This site really works for me. I have been stalled for a while now, but I have not gained either, so that is a plus. I am finding it difficult to stay active enough to make any difference in my weigjt, bit I jave been walking, most days, for at least 20 minutes. if I can just keep up an average of 1/2 lb a week, I will be happy. I would appreciate any help from others with a little encouragement and friendship. Thank you.

I'm so glad you feel comfortable sharing today! I find journaling my thoughts help me address issues as they come up. I love the support I get from other members on this site. As far as weight loss goes, when you find you are stalling sometimes it helps to change "just one thing". Try adding more water, or not snacking in the evening, or adding 5 minutes to your daily walk...just one thing may be all it takes to get you going again. You may even find sharing with the FS community via your journal is the "just one thing" you needed.

Sharing and the support that is returned is the best part of this site. The tracking tools are awesome as well, but it's a great community without pressure just a lot of very human people well aware of how difficult losing weight can be and how difficult life can be as well at times. So glad you're here with us.

give self time over loss of husband of 44 years....an incredible loss....there is lots of love and support on this site..we care honey...baby steps...but am sure your husband would want you to go on and live and be happy and healthy...good luck...what works for me is to plan the following days meal, plan at least an hour of exercise and stick with both plans..
