I’m 10 kg more than this time last year. My weight and mental health seem to have spiralled out of control. I’m drinking heavily each night just to drag myself through the day at work the next day. So. Let’s try this again. 2 days now with no booze, and started walking today. Have planned out the next few days. Lots of calories as I finish up some of the junk food I have accumulated, but in measured amounts. There’s no booze in the house . I want to lose at least a kg a week over the next 5 weeks. After that I am visiting family for 4 weeks, so will try and maintain. I have also booked an overseas trip in 4 months that will involve lots of walking, so will try and keep focussed. Physical and mental health go hand in hand, so I hope that making improvements in one will lead to improvements in the other. Let’s do this!!

Hey Trie, We all have struggles so just know you are not alone. One thing I might mention though is to perhaps set yourself a slightly more realistic goal of say 1/4 kilo per week. I find if I'm too aggressive with my intention, then fail to meet it, I set myself up to spiral off the rails (because of course as a lifelong obese person who has failed time and again, mentally I'm always struggling with the of course I'm going to fail so I do) Congratulations on cutting out the booze....useless empty calories that despite the initial buzz actually contributes to depression biochemically. Wishing you success going forward as clearly you've done and mastered this before.

Brutally honest. I hope you are rewarded and turn this around soon.
