Wendy Armitage's Journal, 13 Jan 17

In the last couple of days I have done some prep work.

Made some veggie sticks and some rockmelon/honeydew melon boxes.

I am loving my honeydews and rockmelons at the moment. Though I cannot wait to get into my veggie sticks with some greek yogurt.

If I had more containers I would have chopped up some banana and froze them as a cold treat.

Awesome, you are very inspiring, I need to do something like that. In winter I made loads of soups to have on hand if I was really hungry, but the vegie sticks are great for summer. If it is there ready to go will be the first thing you reach for and feel good every time you do because you planned ahead!

i thought that fruit was from the red list?

Hey Beccaparkyn, of course do whatever works for you. I'm not sure what diet you have chosen to guide you, but if it's a choice between Rockmelon or Honeydew melon, or icecream/chips/biscuits, I'd say there is no fruit that is on the don't go there list. I've never noticed someone who eats tons of fruit having a weight issue. My personal philosophy is that if it isn't in plastic packaging - it's healthy fuel. Certainly for me, it's not the fruit and vegies I eat that contribute to my obesity. Loving your work Wendy. Feeling inspired.

Just to clarify. I am not following the keto lifestyle as I said I would be. I'm currently been put on a low carb diet. I'm not eating any other fruit other than the rockmelon/honeydew melon and bananas. I also wont be eating them everyday as im on a stict meal plan. So it's more of a nice treat for me.

How many carbs are you allowing yourself Wendy? Also this may help you.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z9xkfILXsQ This is Dr Mike Van, he is a doctor, and can teach you a lot about intermittent fasting, glucose and the Ketogenic diet.. and anything else you want to know. There are a lot of carbs in fruit. I have been a large fruit eater all my life and now I find that I need to bring it down to berries and a banana only in one day. Yoghurt is high in carbs also, If you have a look at my food diary you will see how my carbs are spiked when i eat yoghurt and fruit. I hope this helps... Annemieke

Prepping good food choices works! Excellent. I also roast seasoned, low carb veg (like zucchinis mushrooms etc) to eat later as a snack. I must do that more. Thanks for reminding me. 😃

Hi Wendy you inspired me. I packed snow peas, celery and bananas on Sunday as I had a 9 hour drive to do and thought I might snack on rubbish otherwise. And I discovered just how sweet snow peas really are. Thank you. Had a nasty gain today - but it would have been worse without your inspiration.
