Mary MJM's Journal, 11 Mar 18

Been struggling for a whole week now. Been put back on thyroxine by my specialist and am finding my thyroid symptoms have increased ten-fold. Caved in today and ate a whole kfc streetwise feast by myself and didn't do any exercise. Also haven't been recording any of what I've been eating or doing which is making me feel not acountable for my actions. Need to make sure that I record my progress and allow people to support me. It's easier sharing your issues than doing it alone, I just need to learn to except that I'm not strong enough to do it alone.

Here's to a new start (again).

No one is really strong enough to do it alone...besides that is lonely! Welcome back to the gang. I look forward to reading of your progress. The first step is the hardest. I have this demon in my mind that chants "If you bite it, you must write it!" at me. Thanks Weight Watchers!

It's not easy with the thyroid thing. The slow down effect it has on the metabolism is sometimes underestimated. I'm currently reading "Eat What You Love, Love What You Eat" by Michelle May and she talks about emotional eating and strategies to help people eat more mindfully. It was recommended by my dietitian and I am getting a lot out of it. Your weight isn't huge. Keep plugging along.

Here's to you for sharing your ups and downs. I've only been sharing my ups. I have been losing and gaining the see 8-10 lbs for weeks now. It's maddening! I do well for several days and then I lose it and eat too much (carbs!!!). I am having such a hard time staying on track. That's always been my problem. Hoping to be back on the wagon next Monday!
