I think that if you are struggling with your health or weight loss whether it is only a few kilos or trying to come back from years of obesity and you can't make sense of all of the conflicting dietary information or you are a Type 2 diabetic or insulin resistant (I think it would be an eye opener to know the number of undiagnosed cases because usually blood tests only measure fasting blood glucose and don't measure fasting insulin which if monitored would indicate the the onset of insulin resistance years earlier and avert the need for doctors to say "well oh my - you appear to have become diabetic, we better get you on some diabetes medication, I'm sorry to inform you that it will probably only keep your blood sugar in check for a while but it's OK we have some more serious medications when that can't stem the onset. They will make you gain weight more but there you go - what can you do - it's a degenerative disease. Weren't you listening when I told you to eat less and move more. Oh, and you will have a few years of this before we will need to start chopping the buggered bits off you.") I have stumbled across a series of podcasts called "Peak Human" really recommend to all. Host has a lean to low carb/keto but interviews learned people from all angles and provides references for studies etc. I had found a lot of the info independently but this summarises really well. Hopefully, I have found the info early enough - hope others can too.

Thanks for the podcast tip, I'll have a listen. I started keto only a few weeks ago and I can't believe how amazing it is.. I feel less hungry, no cravings, my mind is so clear, less lethargic and much more active. Combined with a calorie deficit I'm also losing weight. I don't think I'll ever go back.. This is just the way I am now!

And congratulations on your loss and life change - sounds lie you are taking it by the balls! (so to speak) 😉

Thanks for the support guys. This site seems to be populated with a good share of empathetic supportive people. @Woodburger I found that when I went Keto (several years ago but lots of falling off the wagon along the way), that as you mention, lots more mental clarity and less hunger after adaptation, in fact made it easier to intermittent fast, better life outlook, not feeling like you need a nap in the afternoon, more caring about others etc. I have more recently taken the side step to carnivory (I know - crazy to some) but get even more of the above - who'd of thunk hey?) I do still battle with occasional stupid brief sugar craving lapses (with immediate regret and mood destabilisation, but the longer I am low/zero carb the less it seems to happen and the easier to jump straight back on the wagon).

It's not hard to write also, but alas, I have stooped to your level and I should be very careful as I might get beaten by experience. Anyway, I know it's not hard to stop eating, I fast on a regular basis.
