Things have improved since I last posted. My daughter agreed to sit down and talk with us about renegotiating the contract. We had the Eviction Notice in an envelope, ready to give to her if she would not agree to our terms. I conducted the meeting differently this time. Instead of just giving her the 2-page agreement, I cut it so that each numbered item was on a separate piece of paper, and we gave them to her one at a time, starting with the things that I knew wouldn't be an issue for her. When we got to the boyfriend staying, she asked if he could come over at 7am instead of 8, because his mother can drop him off on her way to work. We conceded on that. Then, she asked if he could stay until midnight, because her curfew was later than that when she was 17. We would not consent to that, but we did extend it until 11pm. Ultimately, she ended up signing the contract and initialing every item, indicating that she will comply with them.
Since the meeting, things have been going much better around here. She agreed to the new term that she would attend Family Counseling with us twice a month. Our first meeting with the counselor via telehealth is next Friday. Praying that goes well. I will continue to also go to individual therapy twice a month.
Eating is still out of control. I'm still drinking a dozen cans of Diet soda a day, but they are now caffeine-free A&W Root Beer. My weight is almost up to 200 pounds! Stress is still a major factor. Things have only been settled down for less than 48 hours, and during that time, I also dropped my phone and got the "green screen of death." It was a very stressful 12 hours until I could get the screen replaced, and I couldn't do ANYTHING on it until then. We also have a lot of financial stress right now. God has been providing, though, and we've never missed a payment on anything, PTL.
