Waaaah, I gained .2kg this week. To be honest 2 days of drinking with my mates, and I put on 1.9kg, so for all that (mostly) to go - well I am reasonably happy.
I found another excuse not to go to the gym. In fact I've written a big list :) No, not really, but they are supposed to be a 24 hour gym, but due to the virus thing they close at 8pm (or whatever) and I struggle to get there that early. I was going there about 8.30 or 9pm each night. Hopefully they change back soon.
I've all but given up of being 80kg by June 30th, but I have a foolproof plan. I am going to lie. I look at it like this. Eventually I will get to 80kg, it might be the middle of July, it might be August, but I will get there. If I can use the Homer Simpson towel rail trick to 'alter' the scales in my favour, then I can take a quick photo and my brother will give up smoking. It's lying for a good cause :)
I'm going to keep trying though, I hope to be about 82 by the end of the month. No more drinking (as far as I know - but my arm is very easily twisted :) )
I also found some online BMI type thing that takes into account bone density etc... and decided to find out what my ideal weight should be. It said I should be 67kg (or 8 feet high). I'm not sure that's on my radar at all, but once I get to 80, I think 75 could be a goal. Maybe next year - when I go back to gym :)

Cheers.

Short update today. Ended up losing .4kg for the week. Not great, but it's in the right direction I suppose. I have a weekend away starting tomorrow, so ANY loss next week will be very welcomed.
I am planning on returning to the gym next week (Tuesday night) - unless I can think of a good (any) excuse not to :) I don;t know why I put it off, I dont actually mind it once I am there, but I haven't been for 6 months now !! Maybe I'll get lost on the way ? Wish me luck :)
One thing I did notice the other day is my belt. At one stage I bought a new belt as I had a wedding to go to and my favourite belt didn't fit. But since then my favourite belt has come back into the wardrobe again, and I counted the number of holes that I am into, and I am on #5 from the end.
I also thought I saw an ab in the mirror this morning !! Might be a hernia, but I am going with an ab :) Just the 1, the others are missing in action.

Cheers.

Well a loss of 1.3kg this week. Pretty happy with that !!
Not a single beer passed my lips - my lips are not happy, but the rest of me is. My liver is even making enquiries if it's old room is still available to rent !!
No packet of bbq shapes, or a whole 6 pack of hot cross buns. In fact apart from some mandarins (the fruit, not the Chinese) I have stuck to my usual diet virtually to the letter !!
I really feel that 80kg by June 30 is a viable thing. I am going away next weekend, but I have already told my mates that I am taking my own salad to eat (so I can have more beer), and they promised not to stir me up too much (we'll see).
I told my doctor (stupid blood pressure is going up and down more than one of George Pell's alter boys) of my plan to be 80kg in a months time and he's on board :) I have to go back on the 23rd June, if I am within striking distance (about 1-2kg) then he will give me some diuretic tablets to temporarily get rid of some excess water. It's sort of cheating, but as long as the scale says 80kg I don't really care :)
I appreciate all the advice, I do read it all. I probably wont bother trying new things (keto, fasting, etc..) - I don't doubt they work, but my method (no matter how basic) has worked for the last 35kg, so I think it can continue to work for me - and I am happy doing it (most times). Once I get to 80kg I will back off a bit and see what's what. Unfortunately I am going to be on some sort of a diet for the rest of my life, but I don't want it to rule my life as it has the past year. It took me 20+ years to put his much weight on, so it's only fair that it takes me 1 year to get rid of it. I'll never be one of those lucky buggers that can eat hamburgers and donuts and drink beer all day without putting weight on. I look at an apple and put on 1kg :( So I will always have to be mindful of what I eat.
Cheers for all the support !!

Waaaah, I went up :(
I am not a smart man, but I am beginning to see a trend. Let me run you through my weeks and see if yoiu can pick up the subtle clues.

last Friday weigh in = 86.4
Drinks on the friday night for my mates birthday. Ate a salad before I went to try to avoid temptation. Didn;t work. Ate some steak and a few snags. Oh, and about 12 beers :)
Saturday mornign weigh in 87.7 :( Yes gained 1.3kg over night. Must have been the salad !=
Sunday weigh in = 87.9 Well the water from all the beer has probably left, so I suppose that's about right.
Had a few beers with a mate.Oh, and a packet of shapes biscuits (yes the whole packet).
Monday weigh in = 88.4 :( Yes another 1.4kg added :(
So then I went back to my usual diet to try to get all of it off.
Tuesday 87.6
Wednesday 87.2
Thursday 86.5 and at this point (yesterday) I had high hopes of a small loss for the week.
but fate stepped in and dealt me a 86.6 kg this morning.

So I added .2kg for the week. It appears I put weight on when I eat salad, no, I mean drink beer :( Who would have guessed :( Why can't kale be fattening ? Waaaahh I like beer !
So the maths is that I have 6.6kg to lose in less than 7 weeks. I still think it can be done. I am going to give it a pretty good go. I do have a boys weekend away in a few weeks (the June long weekend) so that could (will) cause an issue, but I can't see the point of giving up fun completely. So I will still go, drink lots of beers, and deal with the aftermath the next day (and probably the following week !)
Cheers.

.8 kg loss this week. Reasonably happy with that. Truth be told I weighed less last Sunday (currently Friday), so I am not sure how that worked, but still happy with the .8kg
Going out drinking tonight :) So that might make a dent in next weeks loss, but bugger it :)
I am going to keep eating like this until the end of June, and hopefully the gyms open up so I can pay more money and not attend :) No I will try to go a few times each week to kick things along a bit :)
I've given away all my 2xl clothes, and most of my xl clothes as well !! I am currently wearing mostly L sized clothes, but the jumpers are getting a bit big, so I have bought a few M sized ones. They are a tiny bit tight at the moment, but it will only be a week or two at most. This weight loss is very expensive !!
The worst thing (I suppose) is that I have a whole wardrobe of Broncos and QLD rugby tops which I love but can no longer wear :(
As far as pants go, and the general public really does prefer it if you do actually wear pants - well me at least !! I was wearing shorts, or these farah elastic waist pants. mainly because my jeans no longer fitted :( And I do realise that you can get bigger jeans, but I never like the way they actually fitted, so I never bought them. I am currently wearing levis w34l32 and have bought a couple of pairs of w32/l32 which do fit, but ar a tiny bit tight for wearing all day at work.
It is a good feeling when you can basically buy something off the shelf and be reasonably confident it will fit :)
