lizpackard09's Journal, 25 Nov 22

No movement on my scales, but today is worthy of a journal entry nonetheless. Just visited my GP and after reviewing my latest blood test results, she agreed to let me stop my Diabetes meds 🎉🥳🎉 I feel I could have dropped them 3 months ago, but today is good too 👏👏👏

Thanks... I'm pretty happy 💯 I have heard that diabetes is for life, and that what was once labelled as a 'reversed disease' they now refer to as 'going into remission' but whatever - pfff!!! I'll take that as a win 👍 Probably a good reminder to stay vigilant with food and exercise and not slip into old ways down the track... Those meds might help the diabetes but they cause other damage that sadly cannot always be undone...

Thanks so much guys... grateful for you all ❤️ The life change sunk in more today with not needing to take two tablets as part of my morning routine (just BP meds and they are next in line for review)... Such a small change, but possibly the most exciting outcome for me thus far in my journey...

I haven't been keeping a food diary for months so I have been out of touch with who is here, and today is the first time I have seen and read your story. You are doing amazingly well; I am so pleased for you and your success. I am a hospital doctor and every now and again I tell a woman in her early 20s , who already weighs 140kg what the future with diabetes and it's consequences looks like. Next time I might just get out your inspiring biog...
