Haha I've NEVER had high cholesterol before and also a few other things that meant the diet has to change - hoping to lose weight and avoid taking meds. XX

I’m trying steel cut oats 5/7 days for 6 weeks. My cholesterol was 7.1. After doing keto for 12 months

Hi Jenny, I can't have oats yest because of my sugar levels. I am wondering what your cholesterol was before and after KETO. I'm trying to eat only good fats that raise HDL and avoid things that raise LDL.

Cholesterol is a tricky one. I think blood sugar, insulin, liver function & triglycerides are a bit more telling. Your LDL can go up on a low carb diet, actually LDL can go up if you are losing weight. That means total chol may go up as well. So don't panic if that happens

Hi. Maybe cholesterol was 6 12 months before , still a little high, but ldl and hdl were good

Stehensmith all of those readings were bad (blood sugar, insulin, liver function & triglycerides)so I'm a bit confused. This diet is supposed to be helping to lower sugar levels first apparently.
