janetofnq's Journal, 02 Jan 23

Today isn't an ordinary first of the year milestone for me. My beautiful, gentle, loving husband died 18 days ago and I have just myself to care for now. My promise to me is that I will care for myself as if I were him. He certainly thought I was precious so I will treat myself as such. Less alcohol, proper healthy meals and more movement will be recorded as carefully as I charted his medications and exercises, his nutrition and fluids, his physical and mental health markers. I won't revert to the lass he fell in love with 47 years ago but I will do the best I can with and for myself.

I think you're the first person I've ever seen that has a self care plan after such a loss, very well thought out too and honouring to your husband's memory... Do what you can, one day at a time.. triehard is right, you do have a community of support here !!

Oh! I’m so sorry for your loss, Janet. As Liz mentioned & Trihard, we are a community, so happy that you have your own care plan, well done! It must be very hard after 47 years however I’m glad you have things in perspective. One day at a time. Take care

We are here for you. Celebrate him everyday. Was just gifted the book a pocketful of happiness by Richard Grant who lost his wife 12 months ago and before she died she challenged him to look for a pocketful of happiness each day and whilst this doesn’t stop the grieving process, it definitely could help you get thru.
