Sickofdieting1's Journal, 17 Nov 19

I felt sure I had put on heaps, because I had a small serve of roast dinner and wine at friends, but thankfully this week lost .6kg . Still continue my exercise. I wonder how long I can continue to regiment my eating . Good side - fitting into clothes better, continuing to feel that all my hard work is paying off. The bad side - miss "naughty" things and feeling guilty about what I can and can't eat. I have a goal and I'm healthy and only have old age aches and pains. Many people are far worst off than me, so I should suck it up princess and stop griping. So on I go again for another week of denying and discipline. Sending all good wishes.

I feel you! I’ve started keto so i have a lot of things I cannot eat, but I’m baking/making things I love to eat myself in a keto way! I just baked blueberry muffins! Otherwise I know I won’t survive in a long run! All the best👍

Is anyone else dieting (changing eating lifestyle due to diagnosis of type 2 diabetes? Not on meds yet, but if numbers aren't down by Friday doc will prescribe meds.

Levels not changed much, off to doc today. Would like to give the diet another week to see if it makes a difference.

You are losing steadily, keep up the good work, not much more until you reach your goal, well done.

Low carb really is the answer for T2D. It doesnt have to be bacon & eggs and bullet proof coffee either. Giving in another go myself. If you have T2D and dont mind taking a supplement, do a google search for Berberine.

It’s been just over 2 weeks into keto diet, and I started to get keto rash 😭 I’m not sure if that means I cannot continue with keto, but I’ve tweaked macro, and it’s not low carb like keto, but still low enough compared to standard diet... 🤞

Me to rash is good, a sign that it is working. It lasts about 2 weeks then should start to go. Stick with it and the low carbs, it does work.

Hi garytuskin! I increased a bit of carb intake but rash is still there. At least it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse. I saw images of people with severe rashes and got scared 😟 some articles said that for women, we could keep carbs somewhere between 50-100g as well. Although this may not be keto, it’s still lower carb than standard diet. Everyone is different and I just have to find the right ‘spot’ for my body. I also had a very noticeable muscle loss especially from my biceps... 😢

I feel your pain. Trying to find the right mix that's right for us is harder than we thought. Got first dietitian appointment tomorrow so hopefully will point us in the right direction. I'm 71yo and 100kg and told I should be 75. Omg, I haven't been 75 since I was 13yo. This should be interesting.
