tomaud's Journal, 26 Sep 14

Came off my fast this morning at 8am. That made it 4 days 10 hours (106hrs) of fasting. Yes it was excruciatingly hard but I'm very proud for doing it and just shows me of what I am capable of.
Actually any weight loss in this period is really secondary as I wanted to get some of my organs back to reasonable healthy levels as advised by the professionals in the doco. I hope this fasting has done that or helped in some way. I'm sure I've lost a bit of weight too which I can feel.
The things I had been craving most in these days was fruit! Yes I'm a big fruit eater but am also bad at the sweet stuff (obviously!). I went straight for a couple of pears, 2 apples, 2 mandarins and an orange. They tasted so good. Then I had a black tea with honey and it was great. Then I went for my daily walk for 2.5 hours and after it was the best I've felt for quite a awhile. I now think I could handle 2 walks per day. I'll give that a go next week.
Just a note before anybody follows suit. I would watch the documentary before attempting this as it's recommended you have a medical clearance from your Doc. I had seen mine a couple of weeks ago and had a relatively clean bill of health so I felt strong enough to do it.
The first 2 days I was good just having to fight off the many times I felt hungry and wanted to quit. The 3rd morning I felt very very weak and had my cup of soup then instead of tea time and that did the trick and I was good. The same thing happened on day 4 but I also felt a bit sick in my stomach but after the soup I was ok.
For the rest of today I went to my dads and had cauli, brocolli, mushrooms & asparagus and a lettuce salad. That was great.
I'm going to stay good for the rest of this weekend and see how I'm feeling on Sunday night because I may just do this again. You know strike while the irons hot so to speak.
Thanks
.... and thanks to those that supported my journal. That was nice of you. And to those that think I'm an idiot...well you may just end up being right (?) We'll see. I'll keep yous posted.
