Starting to add in a few (very short) jog/ run sprints into my walks (when I feel no-one is looking 😁). It is helping to burn more calories, but on the other hand, I have sustained my first sports related injury since pre pubescence... gravel rash on the palms bad enough to require a nurse to scrub out the chunks embedded deeper than I was willing to dig ... a very humbling experience at my stage in life 😃

Ouch! Hope you're OK!. I recommend swimming as a great cardiovascular alternative if you feel like changing it up.

Oh no. Don’t let this put you off as terrible as it must have been. Be proud you’re pushing yourself a little harder. It often seems like ‘’it makes no difference’’ but if you do it for a month, suddenly you will notice a difference, after 2 months massive difference. I have been doing exactly that. Small bursts of running and after a few weeks I’m running 4-6km now.

Thanks guys... Hands are healing nicely, I think the most serious injury was to my pride 😂 @littleswedeheart, thanks for the encouragement 👍 our bodies are amazing!!! I am trialling more and more things as I adjust to my new body shape... I read that running is not that great for women over a certain age (that's me 😀) but I'm happy to include it occasionally, as with the weights and resistance training... I can now feel when my body is getting benefits... Not to mention that sweet hit of endorphins afterwards 😁
