Hallelujah 🙏 After a full month of 66.1 to 66.9 - finally have hit 65.8... I think my body has determined my stopping point for now 😀 This month I have seen a second dietitian to get some advice about learning to maintain my weight and she has advised that I shift my macros initially before increasing my calories too much. More carbs and less protein 🤯 I will not pretend that it is not challenging my brain after 18 months retraining and getting such great weight loss results with 1200 Cals, 40% Protein (120g+), 30% Carbs (90g).
Initial daily targets now;
Cals ⬆️ 1250-1300,
Protein ⬇️ 100g
Carbs ⬆️ 120g
Fats - 35-40g
Water - 3lt
Sleep - 8.5hrs+
VERY NERVOUS !!! Don't want the weight to go back on, nor the diabetes to return!!! Just going slow, like I did to lose the weight!!!
3 monthly trial to next blood test.
Also started taking 600mg calcium/day and reducing wkly protein supplements.
66 kg Lost so far: 82 kg.    Still to go: 1 kg.    Diet followed: Reasonably Well.

Incredible and inspiring effort Liz! Good luck with the maintenance, but I suspect with your mindful approach and professional consultation you’ll be fine! 🌼

You are doing great @lizpackard09. Keep up the good work. Don't let the mood swings detail you from healthy eating. That was my undoing? Are you planning to get to your normal BMI weight or stopping at 65? Your maintenance calories are about 1500. If you continue with 1250 calories you may lose a bit more.

Thanks for the encouragement guys... bestees.au, after dropping 82kg, I have between 5-8kg of loose skin (maybe more). If I was to remove that from my frame, then it places me in the normal range. You're right, I'm still in calorie defecit, but weight has pretty much halted and I need to work towards the next part of my journey. I wasn't sure how close I'd get to my 'normal' BMI before this happened... but all signs point to this being my body's natural 'life weight' and my next goals will involve building muscle mass. In a while, I will be putting out a call to the FS fam for anyone who has had surgery for loose skin removal... I'm already 'over' the daily care routine that comes with the flowing folds of skin left behind...

You might be nervous, but what a great thing to be nervous about!!!

@lizpackard09 Ok it makes sense. You have such great awareness about your body, it's nice to learn all that. I didn't know about the excess skin that we need to work with when we lose that much weight. No worries you will find a way. I remember once you mentioned that you rather have good health than worrying about excess skin. It is not easy what you have achieved. So, be proud of that.

After what you’ve done I’d say you’ve got it in hand and you know your body by now. I’m not so sure about dieticians, I know my daughter is well well over weight and her dietitian told her she can have cakes which I think is so wrong but I do I know.

I am amazed and inspired by your incredible weight loss journey. A change in strategy is daunting when what you have been doing is so successful, but 1200 cal should not be a recipe for weight gain, no matter in what form. Are you able to increase your exercise a bit to ensure the balance stays in the right direction? Advice is only that; you don't have to take it...

Congratulations on reaching your goal, that's amazing. My body has been stuck on 73kg for a month so that might be my body's sweet spot.

Thanks so much for the encouragement guys... feeling the love 😚 @emigree - that's some sage thinking 🤔 and thankful for the reminder, I do need to get back to actively building some muscle in order to increase my cals and NOT add back the body fat 😬

Thank you very much for sharing this. Fine tuning is the final piece of the puzzle. I lost most of my weight with WW but calorie counting is probably best for the stage I’m at (1kg to go but taking months). Will try focusing on more protein/less carbs.

Thanks @jmcdonn, I have learnt (and continue to learn) so much from the FS community, it's one of the great strengths of this app 💪 The value of shifting macros around within your calorie intake was a huge help to me, learnt via some of the body building FS fam ❤️
